The Line In Port.
In the final part of this guide we will explore some other things that you can do to separate yourself from the countless people who are aspiring to do the exact same thing you are trying to do. This post talks about how to forward your audio from your PS4 into your PC so you can stream from your computer instead of using the cumbersome twitch app on the PS4. For this you will need to have a standard 3.5mm aux cable as well as a LINE IN port (Colored light blue) on your computer. On your PC right click the volume icon in your taskbar, and select Sounds. From there go to the Recording and right click Line In and go to Properties. In the first General tab, make sure under Device Usage make sure it says Use this device (enable). Click the Listen tab and click the checkbox to listen to the device. Lastly, make sure that the default playback device is set to whatever you use as your output device (your headphones). Plug the headphone cable into your PS4 controller and put the other end into the LINE IN port. When you play your PS4, the audio should be playing through your headphones, which means that you now can stream through your PC. Unfortunately, I do not have an Xbox One to validate this method for that console so I will advise that you check out this video to help you out (note that even though it says to play through speakers, just replace that with your headphones). You can buy headphone cables here. In the next post, we will explore overlays and how to make your own custom overlays, or how to find pre-made overlays to suit your needs.
